Throughout my educational years I was enthusiastic about getting involved in outreach events to help share my fascination of the universe with others. Throughout both my undergraduate and graduate education I volunteered with public observing groups. I helped to plan and organize events, as well as participating in setting up and operating telescopes for open stargazing.
I have given several public talks aimed at sharing the intriguing, but alien concepts of neutrinos, supernovae, and the origin of elements for diverse audiences. This includes helping a local chapter of boy scouts gain their astronomy badges!
While my opportunities to engage in outreach have diminished since I left grad school, I am always eager to learn about and engage with new outreach endeavors. It has been a tremendous pleasure to spark curiosity, and make science accessible and engaging for everyone.
